Feng Huang Dan Cong is a world-famous sort. According to the legend, the tea has been grown on vast high-mountain plantations of Feng Huang Shan (Phoenix Mountains) for over 800 years. Varieties of Feng Huang Dan Cong differ by the characteristics of their bouquet; therefore different kinds are picked and processed separately. The following varieties are the most widely known: Mi Lan Xiang Dan Cong («Honey Orchid»), Gui Hua Xiang Dan Cong («Osmanthus»), Bai Ye Dan Cong («White Leaf»), Huang Zhi Xiang Dan Cong («Yellow Branch», or «Gardenia Scent»). Rou Gui Xiang Dan Cong («Cinnamon»), Wudang Dan Cong («Mount Wudang Tea»).Feng Huang Dan Cong is the tea of “four unsurpassed perfections”. They are: the dark rich color of the tea’s dainty leaves, crystal clarity of its golden-orange infusion, its mild mature taste carrying pure freshness and notes of honey, as well as its unique bouquet of floral fragrances.
